On the Road, Again

I am flying out to do another academic lecture this weekend, this time at Rice University in Texas. The talk is on a somewhat obscure aspect of magical manifestation in black slave religion.

Although I approach African American slave religion as an historian, it is interesting that many of my own personal insights have been informed by this topic. That is the way things are. For example, I have no doubt that I was attracted to Haitian Vodou because it is a religion of the slave, and it is also a religion of magic. It demonstrates to me that here in the third dimension, some of the most powerful forces to address suffering have been human magical creations.

Understand this, and you can answer the question of how the combined intention and will of 500,000 black people eventuated in the creation of the first (and only) republic in the western hemisphere after the successful revolt against an oppressive and immensely powerful slave regime.

(If on religious or cultural grounds you despise the religion of Vodou, then open your bible to the book of Exodus and read the same story of slaves rising up against an oppressive empire armed only with their will, their intent, and their spiritual resources to help them.)

I recently found similar ideas reiterated in a rare channelled text:

It has been written, and it is true, that the cataclysmic end of both [Lemuria] and Atlantis came about through the great greed of the few over the masses. The subsequent horror and suffering that spread over the earth was of such a hopeless nature that finally the tens of thousands of slaves began to realize the absolute futility of living...in the physical body under the tyrannical rule of their masters. So, they began to hold secret meetings and large and small groups, in which they called down the wrath of the Earth, Fire and Water Gods, not upon their masters alone, but upon themselves...this praying for freedom through death by the slaves spread by word of mouth the length and breadth of Mu until it became a dominating obsession for them. (Probert, Magic Bag, p. 29)

And thus the universal thought-forms that embody freedom and liberation from slavery were created.

This is so deep. You have to love it when the Beings narrate ancient history, even if it is by a metaphysical process.
