Being a sci-fi nut, I have always been interested in films and literature that take on the question of what it means to be human and to possess human consciousness. And for those of us who deal with non-human spirits and aliens as a lifestyle, why do we assume that human-type consciousness is a universal thing? What about the robot, the cyborg, the created life-form?
It is a question that New Agers and magicians have yet to tackle with any depth, so far as I know. Why is that?
Mark my words, this is important stuff.
